Symbolism: Like Goku (The tail Etc.) is based on the very popular ancient Chinese/Japanese legend on 'The monkey king' supposedly a prince who had a monkey tail (Why I don't know) He & his friends set off in the famous journey that has been recorded in books, a TV series & even a movie 'Journey to the west' But then that's just my theory!

Preferred Weapons: Thief dagger, Dual bladed pole-arm.

Speciality: Steal (as an attack. i.e. stealing items being held by opponents)

Personality: Optimistic, cheerful, a little reckless, kind, understanding, courageous, sweet & maybe...juts maybe a little shy (Although not in the obvious sense)

Personal Thoughts: YAY!!! Zidane!! One of the best main characters in the FF series in my opinion! He's sweet & kind. Me like him lots!

More: Zidane can be described as 'The typical teenager' That is, if typical teenagers had tails, lived in medieval times & survived by stealing what he needs. He is part of the thieves' guild known as Tantalus performing theatre group. He seems to live his life with no regret, and is very optimistic, which somewhat makes him symbolic of confidence. As with a typical Hero Zidane has no real memory of his past. He's a real player with the ladies (Who don't seem to share his enthusiasm.), however the game stresses he's "Not a Jerk, unkind, Brat, cold-hearted, stuck-up. (Need I go on?) Like Squall (Sorry hardcore FF8 fans but it's a sad fact). Having no memory he tends to live life like a game of chance, always taking risks dreaming up crazy schemes. In his little group of thieves he is defiantly the boss' favourite. The rest of the guild don't seem to mind much & hold Zidane in high regard. HE's usually the leader & the one who makes the plans If there are any needed, Zidane likes to rely on instinct. But he isn't Childish & matures through the game eventually finishing his quest to find the mystery of his birth & Origin. All in all Zidane is a very emotional character.

More: Garnet is the princess of the royal house of Alexandria & heir to the thrown (Note the long name) Her mother is Queen Brahne (Who's a bigger bitch than that cow fitness instructor In Ratchet & Clank!) She is not happy with her high class life (Ever hear the song 'Uptown Girl'? That's more or less Zidane & Garnet in a nutshell) She wishes to explore the world & find out what else is there in life besides wearing a crown & looking pretty. But she still feels bound to her tudies. She's very fearfull of tragedy & danger coming to her city of Alexandria. After being kidnapped by the rag-tag bunch of thieves on a 'spur-of-the-moment' plan dreamt up by Zidane) She desguises herself as a common villager to keep attention off of her. She is also known to the party as 'Dagger' to keep things quiet about who she really is.

Personal Thoughts: Awww! If there's any-one who is the Girl's baby turtle in FF9 it's Vivi!!

More: He's been called the second most important character in the game after Zidane. Vivi's the little black mage that joins up with Zidane. He's rather Clumsy, a little strange & a mystery to every-one (Especially himself) He is very interested in the nature of the world & the existence of all living things, which is more or less the reason he joined Zidane, to try & find out his own purpose & life & what he was put on this...er....earth.... to do. Chasing after his purpose in life, I think he needs to see that the chasing of the rainbow is the best pot of gold you could ever have. Feared & respected in the world of Gaia (Like all Black mages) He really is very warm & pure of heart.

More: The last survivor of a tribe of Summoners who lived in the village of Madain Sari. Eiko is very afraid of being alone. She lives in the remains of her village with a bunch of Moogles. Upon meeting our heroes it doesn't take long for the 6-year-old to develop a crush on Zidane. Her speciality is White magic & the ability to summon healing creatures.which is the 2 reasons she joins the group. 1 to be close to Zidane & 2 to be able to help Garnet to develop her summoning powers & understand them better.

Personal Thoughts: A bit of an idiot if you ask me.

More: Twice the age of the other heroes, Steiner, at the age of 33, is a giant knight who doesn't see eye to eye with Zidane. Steiner has but one duty, to protect Garnet with his life. Tensions soon grow between him & Garnet's kidnapper (Zidane) as he sees the teenaged boy as a threat to the princess's Safety. Steiner isn't the quickest guy and he spends a good part of the game trying to come to grips with Queen Brahne's new behaviour. Even after he is captured, Steiner is convinced it's a communication cut off and not an actual betrayal. As a knight he is captain of the knights of Pluto, a ragtag group of knights assigned to protect the royal family.

More: Freija (Or Freya if you will.) Freya was once an honourable member of the Royal Dragon Knights of Burmecia. She left her home to search for her lost love, Sir Fratley, who left years in the past. She had never heard of his death, or where he went, so her journey brought her all over the world. With little success She's happy to assist the heroes with her great fighting skills & keen sense of street smarts after hearing about the terrible threat that may destroy her home & the world of Gaia. Her fighting abilities are modelled after the traditional FF Dragoon & she's a very skilled fighter, although her grief seems to slow her down a little.

More: Hmm hmmm hmmm, Quina's one odd individual & no mistake! Squaresoft has made it perfectly clear they will NOT reveal Quina's true Gender (If it even HAS one!) It's from the Qu Tribe & can be recruited at it's home in the Qu swamps. Quina is a chef & a gourmand which is the main reason it joins up with the group as It's looking for great dishes it can eat. With it's constant drive to eat Quina can gulp up enemies with low HP & even learn some of their attacks this way.

Personal thoughts: At first I thought this was the bad guy...Go figure!

Other: Amarant is sort of the lone wolf of the group. He doesn't bond with any-one & seems to show very little compasion or care for any of the characters in the group. Seeing the power inside of Zidane he agrees to join the group temporarily. Although very helpful he has an almost scary obsessive competitive attitude towards Zidane that he carries through-out the game. He believes that the key to life, and survival is power and strength in battle and proves that he cares by consistently challenging his strength and abilities. Why he stays with the part s a mystery to me. I don't like him that much

Personal Thoughts: He's a Prick, but for some reason he's one of the more 'Likable' villains in the FF series. Maybe it's the fact that he looks so much like a girl & we'd all like to see him throw a hissy fit to find his lipstick's smudged. ^.^

Other: As the time he was born was about the same as Zidane, it has resulted in many people believing that he and Zidane were brothers. He is also the guy behind Queen Brahne's attacks as he supplies her with weapons. These weapons he supplied are from Mist, which raises the aggression levels. I don't really know much about him bedsides the fact that he's no good, & he's very cocky.
